125 grams butter, melted
3 tablespoons (60 grams) golden syrup
1 cup (100 grams) rolled oats
1 cup (200 grams) brown sugar, packed
1 cup (100 grams) desiccated coconut
1 cup (150 grams) self raising flour
1/4 cup chocolate chips (white, milk or dark), optional
1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Line 18 x 28 cm slice tin with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl, melt the butter and golden syrup in the microwave.
3. Once melted dump in the oats, brown sugar, coconut and flour. Mix well.
4. If it's dry add a tablespoon of water.
5. Press firmly into the tin, using the back of a dessert spoon.
6. If using chocolate chips stud over the top of the mixture.
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
8. Cool in the pan, then remove and cut into pieces.
